Step-by-step to make crochet flower

Posted on October 19, 2025

That’s a lovely crochet flower motif! 🌸
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to make the exact flower shown in your image — white center with peach petals and a pearl bead.

🧵 Crochet Flower Motif with Pearl Center (Detailed Tutorial)

✂️ Materials:

  • Yarn:
    • Color A: White (for the center)
    • Color B: Peach (for petals)
  • Crochet Hook: 3.0 mm or 3.5 mm
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Pearl bead (optional, for the center)
  • Thread or glue (to attach bead)

🌼 Step 1: Crochet the Center Circle (White Yarn)

  1. Make a magic ring (or chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring).
  2. Round 1:
    • Chain 3 (counts as your first double crochet).
    • Make 11 double crochets (dc) into the ring.
    • Pull the ring tight.
    • Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain-3.
👉 You now have 12 stitches total.
  3. Round 2:
    • Chain 3 (first dc).
    • Make 1 dc in the same stitch, then 2 dc in each stitch around.
    • Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain-3.
👉 You should have 24 double crochets.
  4. Fasten off white yarn. Cut and weave the end.

🌸 Step 2: Add Peach Round (Border Between Center & Petals)

  1. Attach peach yarn to any stitch with a slip stitch.
  2. Round 3:
    • Chain 3, skip 1 stitch, single crochet (sc) in the next stitch.
    • Repeat this all the way around:
→ (Chain 3, skip 1, sc in next)
    • When you reach the beginning, join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
      👉 You’ll have 12 chain-3 loops around.

💡 Tip: This round creates the small open spaces between the white center and peach petals.

🌺 Step 3: Form the Petal Loops (Base for Petals)

  1. Stay with peach yarn.
  2. Round 4:
    • Slip stitch into the first chain-3 space.
    • (1 sc, chain 5, 1 sc) into that chain space.
    • Repeat (1 sc, chain 5, 1 sc) into each of the next chain-3 spaces around.
    • Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
👉 You now have 12 loops made of chain-5 spaces — these will become your petals.

🌷 Step 4: Crochet the Petals

  1. Round 5:
    • Slip stitch into the first chain-5 loop.
    • Work inside this loop: (1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc) — this makes 1 petal.
    • Move to the next loop and repeat (1 sc, 5 dc, 1 sc).
    • Continue around for all 12 loops.
    • Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
  2. Fasten off the yarn, weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.

💡 Tip: If you want your petals to look fuller, you can do 7 dc instead of 5 dc per petal.

💎 Step 5: Add the Pearl Center (Optional)

  1. Take a pearl bead and either:
    • Sew it onto the middle of the white circle using a needle and thread, or
    • Glue it using fabric glue (if you prefer no sewing).
  2. Let it dry completely if you use glue.

🌼 Finished Flower

You now have a soft, layered crochet flower motif with:

  • A solid white center
  • Peach lace petals
  • Optional pearl accent

🧩 Ideas for Use:

  • Join several to make a table runner, blanket, or curtain panel
  • Use as coasters
  • Sew onto bags, hats, or scarves
  • Make earrings or brooches
