This is a crochet linked loop / infinity motif trim (often used as table runners, borders, or straps). Iβll explain it step by step so you can make the same design πΈ
(English crochet terms)
π§Ά MATERIALS (IMPORTANT)
- Yarn: Cotton or milk cotton (not fuzzy)
- Yarn weight: Sport / DK
- Hook size: 3.0 mm β 3.5 mm
- Scissors
- Needle
π Tight stitches = nicer shape like the photo

β¨ STITCHES USED
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- sc2tog = single crochet 2 together (decrease)
π€ PART 1: MAKE THE FIRST LOOP (OVAL)
Step 1: Make a ring
- Chain 14
- Insert hook into first chain
- Slip stitch to make a ring
π Do NOT twist the chain
Step 2: Fill the loop
- Chain 1 (does NOT count as stitch)
- Single crochet 24 stitches evenly around the ring
(Put stitches into the hole, not the chain) - Slip stitch into first SC
β You now have 1 thick oval loop

πΊ PART 2: MAKE THE TRIANGLE (INSIDE THE LOOP)
We will crochet back and forth, not in rounds.
Row 1:
- Attach yarn on one side of the loop
- Chain 1
- Single crochet 12 stitches across HALF of the loop
- Turn your work
Row 2:
- Chain 1
- sc2tog (decrease)
- Single crochet in each stitch until last 2
- sc2tog
- Turn
π You reduced 2 stitches
Row 3:
- Chain 1
- sc2tog
- SC across
- sc2tog
- Turn
Continue rows:
Repeat Row 3 until:
- Only 1 stitch remains
Finish triangle:
- Chain 1
- Cut yarn
- Pull tight
β You now have 1 loop + 1 triangle

π PART 3: MAKE THE SECOND LOOP (LINKED)
This is the most important part π
Step 1: Start new loop
- Chain 14
- Insert hook through the POINT of the triangle
- Slip stitch into first chain to close loop
π This links the pieces together
Step 2: Fill loop
- Chain 1
- Single crochet 24 stitches around loop
- Slip stitch to first SC

πΊ PART 4: MAKE NEXT TRIANGLE
Repeat PART 2 on this new loop
π REPEAT PATTERN
Repeat:
- Loop β Triangle β Loop β Triangle
Until your desired length
𧡠FINISHING
- Weave in all yarn ends
- Lightly stretch with hands
- Optional: steam block (do not touch iron)
πΈ SIZE ADJUSTMENTS
β Bigger loops β chain 16β18
β Smaller loops β chain 12
β Wider triangle β start with 14 SC instead of 12
π‘ COMMON MISTAKES
β Triangle too loose β use smaller hook
β Loop twisting β check chain before slip stitch
β Uneven edges β always chain 1 before turning
