Easy to make Crochet Flower Keychain

Posted on December 5, 2025

Sure! Here is a step-by-step tutorial to make the exact 3D plush daisy keychain shown in the picture.
I will break it down clearly so you can follow easily.

🌼 PLUSH CROCHET DAISY KEYCHAIN β€” FULL DETAILED TUTORIAL

⭐ MATERIALS

  • Yarn:
    • Yellow (center) – medium or velvet yarn
    • White (petals) – soft thick yarn (velvet or chenille works best)
  • Hook: 3.0 mm or 3.5 mm
  • Yarn needle
  • Pearl bead (6–8 mm)
  • Keychain ring + jump ring
  • Scissors

🌼 PART 1 β€” MAKE THE CENTER (YELLOW)

Round 1 – Magic Ring

  1. Make a magic ring.
  2. Crochet 10 SC (single crochet) inside.
  3. Pull ring closed.
  4. Slip stitch into first SC.
    • You now have 10 stitches.

Round 2 – Increase

  1. Chain 1.
  2. Crochet 2 SC into each stitch around.
    • (10 Γ— 2 = 20 SC)
  3. Slip stitch to finish the round.

Round 3 – Increase Again

  1. Chain 1.
  2. SC in next stitch, 2 SC in next stitch β€” repeat all around.
    • (10 repeats Γ— 3 stitches = 30 SC)
  3. Slip stitch to join.

πŸ‘‰ Your yellow circle should now be flat and the same size as the flower center in the photo.

🌼 PART 2 β€” LONG PETAL LOOPS (WHITE)

These long loops are what give the daisy its thick 3D petals.

Round 4 – Loop Round

You will work into all 30 stitches from the yellow round.

For EACH stitch:

  1. Insert hook into next stitch.
  2. Pull up a loop.
  3. Chain 12 (or chain 10 if using thicker yarn).
    • This chain is the length of your petal.
  4. Slip stitch into the next stitch to anchor it.

Repeat 30 times all around:

You will now have a β€œsunflower” of long chains around the circle.

βœ” These chains are the bases of your petals.

🌼 PART 3 β€” TURN LOOPS INTO PETALS (SOFT THICK PETALS)

Now we will transform those loops into the soft petals like in the photo.

METHOD A (Most accurate to photo β€” yarn wrapping)

Do this for EACH loop:

  1. Hold 1 chain loop.
  2. Wrap white yarn around the loop 15–20 times, tightly but smoothly.
  3. Sew the end to secure it.

β†’ This creates thick, plush, puffy petals.

METHOD B (Simplest β€” fold & stitch)

  1. Fold the loop in half.
  2. Stitch the bottom of the loop to the base.
  3. Adjust the shape.

This also creates full petals but a bit less thick.

NOTES FOR PERFECT SHAPE

βœ” Keep all petals the same size and tension
βœ” Push petals outward as you sew
βœ” Make sure the wrapping/stitching is tight so petals do not slide

🌼 PART 4 β€” ADD THE PEARL

  1. Thread your needle with yellow or white yarn.
  2. Place a pearl bead in the center.
  3. Sew it down securely (2–3 passes).

This gives the pretty centerpiece in the photo.

🌼 PART 5 β€” ATTACH THE KEYCHAIN

At the back of the daisy:

  1. Insert a small jump ring into any stitch of the yellow circle.
  2. Use pliers (or fingers) to close the ring.
  3. Attach the keychain ring to the jump ring.

βœ” Make sure it’s tight so it doesn’t fall off.

🌼 FINISHED!

You now have a plush 3D daisy keychain exactly like the ones in the image:

  • Thick white petals
  • Flat crochet center
  • Pearl in the middle
  • Cute and perfect for gifts or selling
