Easy to make Crochet Flower

Posted on December 28, 2025

This looks like mini yarn roses made using a fork 🌹🧶 (very popular craft). Here’s a clear step-by-step guide to make them.

Materials (very important)

  1. Yarn
    • Best: medium or thick yarn (cotton or acrylic)
    • Thin yarn works but needs more wrapping
  2. Fork
    • 4-prong fork is easiest
  3. Scissors
  4. Needle + thread or hot glue

STEP 1: Prepare the yarn

  • Pull out about 1–1.5 meters of yarn
  • Don’t cut yet (cut later)

STEP 2: Hold the fork correctly

  • Fork prongs facing up
  • Handle pointing down
  • Hold fork firmly with one hand

STEP 3: Start weaving on the fork (VERY IMPORTANT)

  1. Leave a tail of yarn about 10 cm
  2. Put yarn over the first prong
  3. Go behind the second prong
  4. Go over the third prong
  5. Go behind the fourth prong

➡️ This creates a wave pattern

Now repeat:

  • Go back the opposite way
  • Over → under → over → under

🎯 Keep wrapping until it looks thick:

  • Small rose: 20 wraps
  • Medium rose: 30 wraps
  • Big rose: 40+ wraps

Press wraps down gently so they stay neat.

STEP 4: Tie the center (MOST IMPORTANT STEP)

  1. Cut the yarn, leave a long tail (15–20 cm)
  2. Cut another short yarn piece (about 12 cm)
  3. Push this short piece through the middle gap of the fork
  4. Pull tight between the prongs
  5. Tie 2 strong knots

⚠️ Pull hard — this holds the flower together!

STEP 5: Remove from the fork

  • Slowly slide the wrapped yarn off the fork
  • You’ll get a flat strip tied tightly in the center

Don’t panic — it looks ugly now 😄

STEP 6: Roll into a rose shape

  1. Hold the center knot with fingers
  2. Start rolling one side inward
  3. Roll slowly and tightly
  4. Keep wrapping around the center

🌹 You will see petals forming naturally

STEP 7: Shape the petals

  • Use fingers to:
    • Pull outer loops slightly
    • Spread layers like real petals
  • Don’t pull too hard or yarn may loosen

STEP 8: Secure the bottom

Option A: Sewing (strongest)

  • Use needle & thread
  • Stitch through the bottom 3–4 times
  • Tie knot and cut thread

Option B: Glue (fastest)

  • Add hot glue at bottom center
  • Press and hold for 10 seconds

STEP 9: Final touch

  • Cut extra yarn tails
  • Adjust petals
  • Done! 🎉

COMMON PROBLEMS & FIXES

❌ Flower loose → Tie center tighter
❌ Looks flat → Add more wraps
❌ Uneven petals → Adjust loops gently
