This butterfly is made in 3 parts:
1️⃣ Body
2️⃣ Wings
3️⃣ White border + antennae
You crochet flat, not in rounds.
🧶 MATERIALS
- Yarn:
- Color A = wing color (pink / blue / yellow / purple)
- Color B = white
- Hook: 3 mm or 4 mm
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
✂️ CROCHET TERMS (IMPORTANT)
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- tr = treble crochet (yarn over 2 times)
PART 1️⃣: BUTTERFLY BODY
Step 1
Using white yarn:
- Make a slip knot
- Chain 12

Step 2
Insert hook into 2nd chain from hook
- sl st
- sl st in every chain until the end
👉 You now have a thin straight strip
Step 3
- Fasten off
- Do NOT cut yarn too short (this helps for sewing later)
This strip = butterfly body

You will crochet around the body, not into chains.
