🧶 How to Crochet a Granny Square Blanket (Like the Image)
📌 Materials:
- Medium-weight yarn in multiple colors (as shown: white, yellow, blue, pink, red, gray)
- Crochet hook (usually 4.0 mm to 5.0 mm for medium-weight yarn)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
🪡 Basic Granny Square Instructions
🔹 Round 1: Make the Center
- Start with a magic ring, or chain 4 and slip stitch to form a ring.
- Ch 3 (counts as first double crochet), then 2 dc into ring, ch 2.
- (3 dc into ring, ch 2) × 3 times.
- Slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3 to join. (You should now have 4 clusters of 3 dc with ch-2 corners.)
➡️ Tip: Fasten off and switch color if desired.
🔹 Round 2: Add a New Color
- Join new color in any ch-2 corner space.
- Ch 3, 2 dc in same corner, ch 2, 3 dc in same space (this forms a corner).
- In next ch-2 space: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc).
- Repeat for all corners.
- Slip stitch to join.
➡️ You should now have a square shape with 4 corners.
🔹 Round 3 and Beyond: Build Out the Square
- Join next color in any ch-2 corner.
- Ch 3, 2 dc in corner, ch 2, 3 dc in same corner.
- In each space between clusters, make 3 dc.
- In each corner: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc).
- Repeat around and slip stitch to join.

Repeat for as many rounds as desired, changing colors each round for a colorful look like the image.
🔹 Final Round (Optional Border)
Once your square is as big as you like or once all squares are joined:
- Work a border round in single crochet (sc) or half double crochet (hdc) in a neutral color (e.g., gray in your image).
- Make 3 stitches in each corner.
🧵 Making the Blanket:
- Make multiple granny squares in your desired color combinations.
- Use whip stitch, slip stitch, or join-as-you-go method to connect the squares.
- Add a border around the whole blanket to finish cleanly.
