Beautiful Crochet Flower

Posted on November 21, 2025

This is a beautiful puff-flower / elongated-loop stitch blanket.
I’ll show you exactly how to make it, step by step.
No special tools—just yarn and a hook.

🌼 FULL DETAILED TUTORIAL

(Every step explained clearly)

🔹 WHAT YOU NEED

  • Soft chenille / baby velvet yarn (like in your picture)
  • Crochet hook: 4.0–5.0 mm (depending on yarn)
  • Scissors

🔹 STITCHES USED

  • Chain (ch)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Puff stitch (multiple long loops)
  • Long loop cluster (petals)

🔹 PATTERN MULTIPLE

👉 Multiple of 6 + 2
Example: 56 + 2 = 58 chains.

⭐ STEP-BY-STEP IN FULL DETAIL

✨ ROW 1 — Foundation Row

  1. Make a slip knot.
  2. Chain a multiple of 6 + 2.
  3. Single crochet in the 2nd chain from hook.
  4. SC all the way across.
  5. Turn.

This row supports all the flowers.

✨ ROW 2 — Puff Centers (small oval bumps)

These are the little puff “buds” in the center of each flower.

  1. Ch 1
  2. SC in first stitch
  3. In the next stitch:
    • Yarn over
    • Insert hook, pull up a LONG loop (about 2–3 cm)
    • Repeat pulling long loops 4 times in the same stitch
    • Yarn over, pull through ALL loops
    • Chain 1 to lock
→ This is your puff center
  4. Skip 1 stitch
  5. SC in the next stitch
  6. Repeat steps 3–5 across the row
  7. Finish with 1 SC in the last stitch
  8. Turn

✔ You now have a row of puff centers spaced apart.

✨ ROW 3 — Petal Loops (long petals around each puff)

This creates the beautiful “butterfly wing” loops in your picture.

  1. Ch 1, SC in first stitch
  2. Insert hook into the chain-1 space on top of the puff
  3. Pull up a long loop (same height as previous)
  4. Repeat pulling loops 3 times total
  5. Yarn over and pull through all loops
  6. Chain 1 to lock
→ This forms one flower on each puff
  7. SC into the next SC from row 2
  8. Repeat the process across
  9. Turn

✔ After this row, you now see full flowers!

✨ ROW 4 — Next Puff Center Row

This row repeats Row 2 but the puffs sit between the previous flowers.

  1. Ch 1
  2. SC in first st
  3. In the next stitch:
Make the puff center exactly like before
  4. Skip 1 st
  5. SC in next
  6. Repeat across
  7. Turn

✨ ROW 5 — Petals Again

Same as Row 3.
Each new puff gets long loops.

🎯 REPEAT

Alternate:

✔ Row 2 → Row 3 → Row 4 → Row 5
until your blanket reaches the desired size.

🌟 EXTRA DETAILED NOTES (IMPORTANT)

✔ How long should the loops be?

About 2.5–3 cm.
If you want your blanket more fluffy, make them longer.
