Beautiful Crochet Flower

Posted on February 9, 2026

🌸 This flower is made with yarn + a fork (no crochet hook needed for the center!). I’ll explain it step by step, nice and clear.

🧢 MATERIALS (Exact Details)

  • Yarn:
    • Center color (pink / yellow / green)
    • Petal color (white / mint / pink)
    • Medium yarn (DK or 4-ply works best)
  • Fork:
    • 4 prongs (normal eating fork)
  • Crochet hook:
    • 2.5–3.5 mm
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Pearl / bead (optional)

🌼 STEP 1: MAKE THE FLOWER CENTER (FORK TECHNIQUE)

1️⃣ Hold the fork correctly

  • Hold the fork teeth facing up
  • Use the middle 2 prongs (ignore the outer prongs)

2️⃣ Start wrapping yarn

  • Leave a 5–6 cm tail
  • Wrap yarn around the two middle prongs
  • Wrap in a figure-8 motion:
    • Go over the front
    • Around the back
    • Over the front again

πŸ‘‰ Wrap 25–35 times

  • Fewer wraps = smaller center
  • More wraps = fuller center

3️⃣ Tie the center (VERY IMPORTANT)

  • Cut yarn (10 cm)
  • Insert it between the middle prongs
  • Pull tight and make 2 strong knots
  • This locks the flower center

⚠️ Tie VERY tight or it will fall apart

4️⃣ Remove from fork

  • Gently slide the yarn off
  • Shape it into a round woven disk
  • This is your flower center

🌸 STEP 2: PREPARE FOR PETALS

5️⃣ Attach petal yarn

  • Insert crochet hook through the edge loops of the woven center
  • Pull petal yarn through
  • Chain 1 to secure

🌼 STEP 3: CROCHET THE PETALS (5 PETALS)

We will make 5 petals, evenly spaced.

🌸 Petal Pattern (Repeat 5 times)

Into the same space:

Chain 2
2 Double Crochet
Chain 2
Slip Stitch

➑ Move hook to next space between yarn bundles
➑ Repeat until you have 5 petals

How to make petals look neat

  • Pull yarn gently (not tight)
  • Keep petals rounded
  • Adjust with fingers after each petal

✨ STEP 4: FINISHING

6️⃣ Secure yarn

  • Slip stitch
  • Cut yarn (leave 6–8 cm)
  • Pull through

7️⃣ Hide yarn ends

  • Use needle
  • Sew yarn ends into the back of flower
  • Trim extra yarn

8️⃣ Add pearl (optional)

  • Sew pearl in center
  • Tighten gently
  • Knot on back

🌷 FINAL SHAPING

  • Spread petals evenly
  • Fluff the center
  • Press lightly with fingers

πŸ“ SIZE GUIDE

  • Small flower: 4–5 cm
  • Medium flower: 6–7 cm
  • Big flower: add more fork wraps + 3 double crochets per petal
