Beautiful Crochet Flower

Posted on November 27, 2025

Here is a step-by-step tutorial for making the crochet flower shown in your image (a 3-D layered flower with pearls and textured petals).

🌸 FULL DETAILED TUTORIAL — 3D Crochet Flower With Pearls

⭐ MATERIALS

  • 2.0–2.5 mm hook
  • DK cotton or acrylic yarn (pink)
  • Sewing needle
  • 6–7 pearl beads
  • Scissors

⭐ ROUND 1 — Make the Center Base

  1. Make a magic ring.
    • Wrap yarn around 2 fingers
    • Insert hook under the first strand
    • Pull up the back strand
    • Ch 1 to secure
  2. Into the ring, make 6 single crochets (sc):
    • Insert hook into ring
    • Yarn over, pull up (2 loops)
    • Yarn over, pull through both loops
    • Repeat until you have 6 sc
  3. Pull the tail to close the ring tight.
  4. Join with slip stitch (sl st) to the first sc.

👉 You now have a small circle with 6 stitches.
Each stitch will form one petal later.

⭐ ROUND 2 — Small 3D Inner Petals (CURL PETALS)

These are the curled petals shown in the center.

You will work 1 curl petal in each of the 6 stitches.

For EACH petal (repeat 6 times):

  1. Insert hook into the next stitch.
  2. Yarn over, pull up a long loop (about 1.5–2 cm).
    • Keep loop on hook.
  3. Repeat 5 more times in the same stitch:
    • Insert hook
    • Yarn over
    • Pull up a loop (same tall height)

You will now have 7 loops on your hook:
(1 original loop + 6 tall loops)

  1. Yarn over, pull through ALL 7 loops.
  2. Chain 1 to close the petal.

This makes a tight, curled petal.

Repeat for all 6 stitches.

👉 When finished, you have 6 curled inner petals.

⭐ ROUND 3 — Making the Foundation for Outer Petals

You will now work behind the inner petals (this creates the layered effect).

  1. Lift or fold the small petals slightly forward.
  2. Insert hook into the base stitch behind the petal.
  3. Chain 5.
  4. Slip stitch into the next stitch (behind the next petal).

Repeat this around:

  • Ch 5
  • Sl st into next base stitch

You will finish with 6 chain-5 loops.

These loops are the base for the big petals.

⭐ ROUND 4 — Large Textured Outer Petals

Work all stitches inside one ch-5 loop at a time.

For EACH large petal:

Into the chain-5 loop:

  1. Sl st
  2. Ch 1
  3. Work the petal shape:
    • 1 sc
    • 1 hdc
    • 5 dc
    • 1 hdc
    • 1 sc
  4. Sl st to finish the petal.

Repeat this in all 6 loops.

👉 Your flower now has 6 big outer petals + 6 small curled petals.

⭐ ROUND 5 — Refining Shape

Not necessary but makes it prettier.

  • Lightly pinch the inner petals so they curl inward.
  • Shape outer petals so they curve outward like a real flower.

⭐ ADDING PEARLS

With a sewing needle:

  • Sew 1 pearl in the center of each inner curled petal (6 total).
  • Sew 1 larger pearl in the middle of the flower.

Pull the thread from the back and tie securely.

This creates the exact same look as your photo.
