Amazing Crochet Pattern

Posted on November 19, 2025

Here is how to make this exact stitch pattern shown in your photo.
This is the Suzette Stitch (SC + DC in same stitch, skip 1) made in colorful stripes.

🧡 FULL DETAILED TUTORIAL

⭐ 1. FOUNDATION CHAIN

  • Make a slipknot.
  • Chain any even number (example: 30, 40, 60…).

⚠️ Even number is important because the pattern repeats over 2 stitches.

⭐ 2. ROW 1 – THE FIRST TEXTURE ROW

Step-by-step:

  1. Insert hook into the 2nd chain from the hook.
  2. Make 1 single crochet (SC).
  3. In the same chain, make 1 double crochet (DC).
β†’ This is the Suzette stitch.
  4. Skip the next chain.
  5. In the next chain:
    • Make SC + DC in the same stitch.
  6. Repeat:
Skip 1 chain β†’ SC + DC in next chain
all the way to the end.
  7. Stop when you have one stitch left.
You do not add extra stitches.
    Turn your work.

⭐ 3. ROW 2 – CONTINUE THE PATTERN

You will now work inside the β€œV” shapes created from the previous row.

Step-by-step:

  1. Do not chain 1.
    β†’ Suzette stitch begins immediately.
  2. In the very first stitch of the row:
    • Make SC + DC in the same stitch.
  3. Skip 1 stitch.
  4. In the next stitch:
    • Make SC + DC in the same stitch.
  5. Repeat across the row:
    Skip 1 β†’ SC + DC
  6. Turn your work.

⭐ 4. ROW 3 AND BEYOND β€” SAME REPEAT

Every row is exactly the same:

βœ” No chain 1
βœ” First stitch β†’ SC + DC
βœ” Skip 1
βœ” Next stitch β†’ SC + DC
βœ” Repeat
βœ” Turn

This creates the dense β€œpuffy V texture” exactly like your photo.

🎨 COLOR CHANGE – PERFECT CLEAN STRIPES

To switch colors like in your photo:

When you reach the last stitch of the row:

  1. Start your final SC, but stop before the last yarn-over.
  2. Grab your new color.
  3. Yarn-over with the new color and pull through.
  4. Cut the old yarn.
  5. Begin the next row normally with the new color.

This creates perfect sharp color stripes.

πŸ“ COLOR STRIPE COUNT (from your image)

From bottom to top:

  1. Orange – 2 rows
  2. Yellow – 2 rows
  3. Green – 2 rows
  4. Brown/Orange – 1 row
  5. Green – 2 rows
  6. Yellow – 2 rows
