🌸 This is a layered crochet rose with leaves. I’ll explain it step by step, nice and clear, so you can follow and also turn it into a video tutorial if you want.
🧶 MATERIALS (IMPORTANT)
- Yarn:
- Green yarn (leaves + center)
- Blue yarn (flower)
- Crochet hook: 2.5 mm or 3.0 mm
- Scissors

👉 Use cotton yarn if possible (flower looks cleaner)
🌿 PART 1: GREEN CENTER BASE
Step 1: Magic Ring
- Wrap yarn around your fingers
- Insert hook
- Pull up a loop
- Chain 1 to secure
Step 2: Single Crochet
- Crochet 12 single crochet (sc) into the ring
- Pull yarn tail to close the ring tightly
- Slip stitch into the first sc to join
👉 You now have a small green circle
🌸 PART 2: FIRST LAYER PETALS (BLUE)
Step 1: Attach Blue Yarn
- Insert hook into any stitch
- Pull blue yarn through
- Chain 1
Step 2: Make ONE PETAL (Repeat in every stitch)
In same stitch, do:
Chain 2
3 Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Chain 2
Slip Stitch
👉 This makes 1 soft petal
Step 3: Repeat
- Repeat the same petal in each stitch
- Total petals: 12

🌹 PART 3: SECOND LAYER PETALS (BIG ROSE PETALS)
👉 This layer is worked behind the first petals
Step 1: Go Behind Petals
- Insert hook between stitches, not on top
- You are creating a new layer underneath
Step 2: Big Petal Pattern
Chain 3
4 Double Crochet (dc)
Slip Stitch in next space
👉 This creates one large petal
Step 3: Repeat Around
- Big petal
- Slip stitch
- Continue all around
💡 Gently pull petals forward to form a rose shape
Step 4: Finish
- Slip stitch
- Fasten off
- Weave in ends
🍃 PART 4: LEAVES (MAKE 6–8)
Step 1: Chain
- With green yarn, chain 12
Step 2: First Side of Leaf
Starting from 2nd chain from hook:

Step 3: Leaf Tip
- In last chain stitch:

🌼 PART 5: ASSEMBLY
Step 1: Arrange Leaves
- Place leaves in a circle
- Tips pointing outward
Step 2: Sew Leaves
- Sew leaf bases together lightly
Step 3: Attach Flower
- Place flower in center
- Sew firmly through the green base
Step 4: Final Touch
- Pull petals outward
- Hide yarn ends neatly

- Pull outer petals slightly higher for rose look
- If petals curl → use larger hook

- Use thicker yarn
