🧡 MATERIALS (Important)

  • Yarn: Medium cotton or acrylic (size 3–4)
  • Colors:
    β€’ Pink (center + petals + border)
    β€’ White (middle circle)
  • Hook: 2.5 mm or 3.0 mm
    • Use 2.5 mm for tighter, cleaner puff stitches
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • yo = yarn over
  • puff = puff stitch

πŸͺ„ STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTION


πŸ”΄ ROUND 1 – CENTER CIRCLE (PINK)

Purpose:

Create a flat, solid base.

Steps:

  1. Make a magic ring
  2. ch 2 (this counts as your first dc)
  3. Work 11 dc into the magic ring

  4. Pull ring tight
  5. sl st into the top of ch-2

❌ If it curls β†’ hook too small

βšͺ ROUND 2 – EXPAND CIRCLE (WHITE)

Purpose:

Increase evenly to keep the work flat.

Steps:

  1. Attach white yarn
  2. ch 2
  3. Work 2 dc in every stitch around
    (Insert hook under both loops)
  4. sl st to close round

➑️ 24 dc total

βšͺ ROUND 3 – FINAL WHITE CIRCLE

Purpose:

Prepare space for puff petals.

Steps:

  1. ch 2
  2. (dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch)
  3. Repeat from * to * all around
  4. sl st to close

➑️ 36 dc

βœ”οΈ Circle should stay perfectly flat


🌸 ROUND 4 – PUFF STITCH PETALS (PINK)

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ROUND

Puff Stitch (DETAILED):

  1. yo
  2. Insert hook into stitch
  3. Pull up loop (make it tall, same height as dc)
  4. Repeat steps 1–3 4 times
    πŸ‘‰ You will have 9 loops on hook
  5. yo, pull through all loops
  6. ch 1 to secure puff

Round Steps:

  1. Attach pink yarn
  2. ch 1
  3. Make puff stitch in next stitch
  4. Skip 1 stitch
  5. Repeat puff + skip all around
  6. sl st to first puff

➑️ 18 puff stitches

βœ”οΈ Puff stitches should be full and rounded
❌ Too tight β†’ petals look flat
❌ Uneven height β†’ pull loops taller


🌼 ROUND 5 – PICOT LOOP BORDER (PINK)

Purpose:

Create scalloped lace edge.

Steps:

  1. ch 4
  2. sl st between two puff stitches
  3. (ch 4, sl st) repeat around
  4. sl st to close
  5. Fasten off, weave ends

βœ”οΈ Loops must be loose, not tight
