Amazing Crochet Flower

Posted on December 3, 2025

Great! Here is a beginner-friendly step-by-step tutorial for making the 3D puff-petal flower chain exactly like your picture.

🌸 Detailed Crochet Tutorial β€” 3D Puff Flower Chain

βœ… PART 1 β€” First Flower

1. Make the Ring

  1. Make a slip knot.
  2. Chain 5.
  3. Insert hook into the first chain, slip stitch β†’ you now have a small ring.

2. Make the Flower Center

  1. Chain 1 (this does not count as a stitch).
  2. Work 10 single crochet (sc)inside the ring.
    • Insert hook into the ring
    • Yarn over, pull through
    • Yarn over, pull through 2 loops
  3. Slip stitch into the first sc to close the center circle.

3. Make the Puff Petals

Each petal is made on one stitch of the 10 single crochets.

One Puff Petal =

  1. Insert hook into next stitch.
  2. Yarn over, pull up a long loop (about 0.5 cm long).
  3. Repeat the same motion 5 times in the same stitch: yarn over β†’ insert hook β†’ pull up long loop
After 5 repeats, you will have 11 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over β†’ pull through all loops at once
  5. Chain 2 to lock the petal.

Total petals: make 5 petals around.

How to space them evenly

Work your 5 puff petals into:

  • stitch 1
  • stitch 3
  • stitch 5
  • stitch 7
  • stitch 9

(Skip 1 stitch between each petal β€” makes the flower open and 3D.)

🌺 PART 2 β€” Chain to Connect Flowers

After finishing the 5th petal:

  1. Chain 12
(If you want flowers closer together, chain 8–10. If you want wider spacing, chain 15–20.)
  2. In the last chain, slip stitch to secure.

This chain becomes the stem that connects the next flower.

🌼 PART 3 β€” Make the Next Flower

At the end of your connector chain:

1. Start a new ring

  1. Chain 5, join into a ring with slip stitch.

2. Make the center

Same as the first flower:

  • chain 1
  • 10 sc into ring
  • slip stitch to first sc

3. Make the petals

Repeat the puff petal method:

  • 5 puff petals
  • each puff: 5 long loops, pull through all, chain 2
  • skip 1 stitch between petals

Now you have 2 flowers connected.

🌷 PART 4 β€” Repeat for Full Length

Repeat:

  • Flower
  • Chain 12
  • Flower
  • Chain 12
  • Flower
…until you reach your desired length (belt, headband, strap, necklace, bag handle).

🌸 PART 5 β€” Add Final Flower on the Tail (optional)

At the very end:

  1. Chain 15–20.
  2. Make one last flower using the same method.
  3. This gives a cute flower at the end like your picture.

🌿 PART 6 β€” Finish

  • Cut yarn
  • Pull through
  • Weave the ends carefully using a yarn needle
  • Adjust petals with fingers to make them puffy and round
